Gi Grappling

No-Gi Grappling

No-GI Grappling/Submission Wrestling (All Levels)

No gi jiu-jitsu is a form of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that is practiced without the traditional uniform or "gi" worn in traditional Jiu-Jitsu. Instead, practitioners wear rash guards and shorts or spats.

In no gi jiu-jitsu, the focus is on grappling techniques such as takedowns, submissions, and positional control. The lack of the gi makes it more difficult to control your opponent and perform certain techniques that rely on grabbing the gi, such as collar chokes or sleeve grips.

No gi jiu-jitsu is often seen as a faster-paced and more dynamic form of Jiu-Jitsu since it relies heavily on movement and agility. It's also commonly used in mixed martial arts (MMA) as it better simulates a real-life fight where the opponent is not wearing a gi.

If you're a beginner, it's important to learn the fundamentals of both gi and no gi jiu-jitsu. This will give you a more well-rounded understanding of the art and allow you to adapt to different situations and training partners. It's also important to remember that no gi jiu-jitsu requires more grip strength and control, as there are fewer opportunities to hold onto your opponent's clothing.
